Marie-Josee Lafontaine has worked as an entrepreneur and consultant in the condominium and senior housing sector for over forty years. Following a successful career in managing a Jewish Retirement Community in Toronto, Marie-Josee entered the field of interior design where she designed condos and retirement communities. Her experience and innovative approach to design and customer service started a career in marketing real estate where she began as an associate with bireM international working in product development. In 2002, she partnered with Harold M Green and formed Scollard Group International where she successfully worked as the marketing director for signature developments across the United States such as the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove, FL, Palisade Palms, TX and One Embarcadero, CA. Today, Ms. Lafontaine has focused on senior housing solutions and applied her skills to developing pilot programs and new business strategies in the retirement community that she owns together with her partner Harold Green; Scarborough Retirement Residence, a 144-bed community.
Ms. Lafontaine was a director of Community Lifecare Inc. which operates 1,400 suites in retirement and long-term care communities across Ontario and is also a member of ORCA (Ontario Retirement Communities Association). Ms. Lafontaine is president of FREMA Developments and partner in Vitality Village a new 130 suite community planned in Ajax, Ontario.
