Sally has been the CEO and driving force behind The Peer Project | Youth Assisting Youth (YAY) for the past 29 years, providing prevention programs and services for at-risk and newcomer youth ages 6 to 15, as well as volunteer mentor opportunities for youth ages 16 to 29. YAY supports youth through Peer Mentoring, both in One-to-One / Peer-to-Peer mentoring relationships and Group Mentoring activities and events. YAY offers a variety of structured educational and recreational programs for youth across Toronto and York Region, including after-school programs, educational workshops, volunteer training programs and an Annual 3 day Summer Camp. Sally’s belief is that everyone could benefit from having a mentor.
Sally is also the Co-owner and proprietor of K9 Country Retreat, an exclusive cage free and interactive doggie daycare and boarding retreat facility. She is an inductee in the “Worlds Who’s Who of Women”, “Canada’s Who’s Who” and has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the “USA Who’s Who”. Sally’s also a past recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in acknowledgement of her contributions to the community through public service and voluntary endeavours, and was the 2011 winner of the Harlequin More Than Words Award.
